Jacquelyn Scott-BellHello Jenkins Elementary School,

My name is Jacquelyn Scott-Bell and I am the full-time school counselor here at Jenkins Elementary. I earned my Master of Education in counseling and human development at George Mason University. My goal is to ensure each student has an awesome school experience. I meet with students each week to teach classroom guidance lessons, and individually when necessary.  My focus is academic development, social/emotional learning, and career readiness for our students. I like to make my lessons fun and engaging.

I am the author of two children’s books that help students make good choices. In my spare time I enjoy bike riding, roller skating, and site- seeing. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.  Have a great school year!

Beverly McNairyGreetings Jenkins Elementary School Parents and Students! My name is Beverly McNairy, thank you for visiting our page. I’m delighted to join forces with you and the Jenkins ES Staff. I have a Master’s Degree in School Counseling and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Study in Counseling Psychology from Boston University. I have an ABD in Educational Psychology from Regent University.  My experience expands over 20 years in counseling to include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and trauma therapy using Eye Movement and Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy.

I am looking forward to meeting each of you as the year moves forward. You are welcome to stop by any day to say hi. One of my goals for the year is to assist the students with using the 7 Habit of Happy Kids in their daily lives, focusing on Habit 3: Putting First Things First. The first things for our students at Jenkins ES is them believing they can accomplish any goal that they desire, if they work hard and do not give up. Mistakes are how we grow. It took Thomas Edison 10,000 tries before he discovered the light bulb. Where would we be today without those 10,000 tries?

Parents, I look forward to our work together!

Best,

Ms. Beverly McNairy
