Dear John D. Jenkins Families,

I hope that you are all safe and healthy during these uncertain times.  Who would have thought that our world would have changed so quickly?  Though the circumstances were not foreseen or ideal, I feel that as a school community we will rise above this if we adhere to the guidelines put forth by the CDC. If you or a member of your family have concerns that you may have COVID-19, we recommend contacting your health provider or visiting the CDC website . Dr. Walts, Superintendent of PWCS has done a wonderful job of keeping us informed of all the changes going on in our school system and across the state.  Please make sure that you visit the Prince William County School’s website at for all the latest updates.

Our teachers have been working diligently to ensure that their websites are kept up to date and that your student is provided with numerous activities and resources to work on.  All our students have access to Clever.  The Clever resource provides a link to several online resources to enhance instruction and your child can work on them at their own pace. Please don’t hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher by email or any other form of communication that you have agreed upon.

Please know that we are here to support you and can’t wait until we see the students again. Jenkins Elementary is also a site for to-go meals served at the front door from 9:00a.m. to 11:00a.m on Monday through Friday.  We are also a location with access to wifi in the parking lot.  As we work through these uncertain days, please remind your child that life will return to normal and try to enjoy the bonus time with them. Remember to get outside and make sure that you are practicing social distancing. Despite what is going on around us, we can still focus on being positive. We miss our students tremendously and we pray that you and your families are staying healthy and safe.

Dear Yellow Jackets,

This has been an exciting year and we’ve been faced with many obstacles.  During these unprecedented times due to the COVID-19 pandemic, please know that we are here to support you. Our teachers continue to work endlessly to ensure that their class webpages are updated each week with suggested daily activities. Please take advantage of some of the resources and learning links that teachers are providing on their class webpages. Remember to practice safe precautions such as washing your hands, keeping your hands out of your face, and practice social distancing. We miss you and hope you and your families remain healthy and safe during this pandemic.
