Amanda HeimWelcome to Strings!

This is my second-year teaching at Jenkins E.S. and my 13th year of teaching strings in PWCS. Not only am I a teacher, I am a mom of two wonderful middle school students who also play the violin!  As a teacher and a parent of musicians I understand the time, effort, and commitment it takes to play a string instrument. I am excited to share my love of music with students and help them grow and develop their skills.

You are entering into the creative world of music by joining strings class. You can continue through middle school, high school, college, and for a lifetime, not only as a musician, but also as an educated listener.

Students enrolled in Strings class are strongly encouraged to remain in the class for the entire year, thus making a commitment which will help ensure a successful beginning on his/her chosen instrument. Students are expected to practice at least 10-15 minutes a day for 4-5 days a week.  Students are very successful when they take their commitment seriously, establish a regular practice routine, and take responsibility of caring for a musical instrument.

I look forward to another fantastic year of music making with our Jenkins yellow jackets!
